BOOKING THERAPY

Initial therapy appointments are available in clinic or by telehealth. The first appointment focuses on understanding what has been difficult lately, relevant background and developmental information, what has brought you in for support, and beginning to develop a treatment plan.

Recommended when the tween or teen will be involved in the first appointment. Depending on age and preference, the appointment can include the young person and parent/carer together or be adapted around what feels most comfortable.

Cognitive Assessment Package
For families wanting to understand a young person’s cognitive strengths and areas of difficulty, with recommendations for how best to support their cognitive development.
A cognitive assessment on its own is not designed to provide enough information to determine a diagnosis.
Typically includes

Educational Assessment Package
Best suited when the primary question is a possible Specific Learning Disorder such as dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia.
Where there are also significant concerns about development, social relationships or attention in addition to a possible SLD a Comprehensive Assessment may be more appropriate.

Developmental Assessment Package
For assessment of a young person’s development and neurodevelopmental profile (e.g., autism, ADHD) without investigating academic skills.

Comprehensive Assessment Package
A broader assessment designed to develop a more complete picture of development, cognitive abilities, academic skills, mental health and everyday functioning.
Often most useful where concerns overlap across several areas or the presentation is more complex.
Typically includes
